David Gerstner is Assistant Professor and Program Coordinator of Cinema Studies at CUNY, College of Staten Island. Janet Staiger is William P. Hobby Centennial Professor in Communication at the University of Texas, Austin, where she also directs the Center for Women's Studies. She is coauthor of the The Classical Hollywood Cinema (1985) and author of several books, most recently Perverse Spectators (2000) and Blockbuster TV (2001).
